Savage & Sightron: Proven Under Pressure – by DJ Arlove

Proven Under Pressure
Precision Across Platforms. Consistency Across Divisions.

Since its inception in 2013, the Master Reloader Series has stood as one of the most technically demanding competitive leagues in precision shooting. Every competitor reloads. Every rifle is tuned. Margins are minimal. There is nowhere for equipment to hide.

To win here repeatedly requires a system that performs without compromise. Outermost attention to detail of load devilment skills from experienced competitors

Deon Sevenster, a respected and proven competitor, secured titles in two divisions using two different rifle platforms:
In Open Division, the Savage Model 12 LRP chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. Smallest group of 1.51 mm
In Hunter Division, the Savage Model 12 Varminter Low Profile in .308 Winchester delivered the same championship result, grouping of 2.11mm

Two different recoil impulses. Two different ballistic profiles. Same outcome: repeatable precision under match pressure.

Mounted on both rifles was the Sightron SIII 8-32x56, distributed by Safariden and A. Rosenthal under Agra Ltd. The 8-32x56 configuration has long been a preferred choice for precision disciplines requiring fine target definition and confident dialing at extended distances. Beyond this model , Safariden and A. Rosenthal offers the multiple series of Sightron Scopes from hunting to specialised purposes scopes

Sightron’s patented ExacTrack system provides precise, consistent tracking and dependable return-to-zero, a mechanical advantage that matters when dialling corrections under time pressure. Adjustments translate directly into impact. Below an illustration of what’s sets Sightron apart from the rest.

As Deon states:
“Why spend three times more on a scope when I can get the tracking accuracy and clarity of the Sightron SIII system?”

Consistency across platforms reinforced his confidence in the system. His .223 Remington and 6BR competition rifles are also built on Savage actions.

“I gained my trust in the Savage system by beating other common flagship brands on the range. That’s why I set up my other rifles in Savage as well.” , said with confidence and a grin on his face, that’s trust just there.

The Savage Model 12 series represent Savage Arms pinnacle platform, optimized from factory for precision focus applications. The Model 110 series is the general-purpose series. Deon deliberately selected the Model 12 platform. The series features a match-grade bolt action, user-adjustable AccuTrigger system, and carefully selected barrel configurations designed for consistency and harmonic stability straight from the factory

Proven Components No Compromise

In 6.5 Creedmoor, the Open Division load utilized Peterson brass, 140gr Berger Hybrid projectiles, and Federal Match primers — all available through Safariden.

For the .308 Winchester platform, Lapua brass paired with 168gr Sierra bullets, supplied through A. Rosenthal Windhoek (a division of Agra Ltd), formed the backbone of Hunter Division success.

Deon’s philosophy on components is clear:
“Shooters make the mistake of skimping on cheaper reloading components. Berger and Peterson brass are proven world-record brands used repeatedly. Stay consistent and stick to the proven bullet. The fellow shooter on my heels uses the same components, icon competitors across the globe we see on social media uses Berger Bullets, so why change?”

At this level, there are no shortcuts. Proven components remove variables. Proven optics remove doubt. Proven rifle platforms provide stability.

From rifle to optic to reloading components, Agra Ltd through Safariden and A. Rosenthal Windhoek supplied the complete performance chain behind sustained championship results.

In a league where the best competes against the best, equipment must earn its place on the firing line, now its the shooters’ role to execute.
